Swimming pools are great to swim in once the pH balance is perfect and the pool absolutely clean. Now, keeping the pH balance perfect is no little task. A pH balance of 7.5 and above is considered to be alkaline in nature. At 7.0 the balance is neutral and below that, the balance turns acidic. Now, if you let the pool water turn acidic, the swimmers will have to face skin irritations, infections in the ear and eye and even allergic reactions on their skin. The acidic water is no very forgiving of your pool infrastructure either – the metal pipes, the plumbing, the tile work, all of it gets adversely effected, giving your pool a chipped look. When the pH balance leans too far towards alkaline, calcium carbonate develops on the pool walls, blocking up the pumps and reducing the functioning of your carefully installed water filter to a minimum.

During warm weather organisms such as algae and bacteria tend to form in the water. These organisms are introduced by and gain impetus from various contributors such as dead skin of the swimmers, different bodily secretions, dead leaves and other organic matter that end up in your pool, etc. You can use sterilizers like chlorine and peroxide to keep clean of these organisms. However, doing all the grooming work on your pool will take out more than a couple of hours each week from your busy schedule.
